MY YOGA PHILOSOPHY

Yoga has been a part of my life since 2005, and my practice has helped me gain balance in my health, become more flexible, and embrace the warrior within.  The practice of yoga brings together the body, mind and breath to free them from the obstacles to live in balance and vitality.  This practice is a beautiful compliment to my own as an integrative lifestyle coach and spiritual counselor.  My approach to teaching yoga is compassion-centered with a focus on self-care and expressing loving kindness to yourself.  Just as we want to align our actions in life to our soul’s purpose; we also want our bodies to align with their natural healthy state.  With this in mind, there is a focus on the fundamentals and basics of alignment within my classes.  As a life-long student of religion and contemplative psychology; I honor all belief systems and bring teachings from many different backgrounds into my class themes and meditations.  I completed my 200-hour Vinyasa Flow training with ONE Yoga in Denver, CO and have great gratitude for the experienced teachers who taught and continue to mentor me as a student of yoga.  Helping you to find balance, harmony and freedom from suffering in your life is my mission.  Yoga is one of the potent vehicles to achieve this and as a teacher I am solely focused on supporting YOU; to heal and to blossom into the fullness of who YOU are.

Compassionate Yoga
Compassionate yoga provides a safe, effective, and non-competitive environment that encourages giving yourself the gift of loving kindness.  This is a form of gentle yoga and is appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice. Class sequence is mindfully prepared to support any level of student in proper alignment. Postures may be approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so practice is simple to do and easy to remember. A gentle yoga style encourages a highly individualized approach with on-going encouragement to make moment-to-moment adjustments.
Beginner Align/SHRED
YOGA SHRED is a cross-training combination of yoga and HIIT (high intensity interval training) created by fitness and yoga expert Sadie Nardini. You'll experience a full-body cardio workout that takes Vinyasa yoga as a starting point.  In this particular sequence the first portion of the class will focus on the breakdown of alignment in postures used in the HIIT series in the second portion of the class. The breakdown explanations supports injury prevention.
Power Vinyasa
Power Vinyasa yoga is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. The variable nature of Vinyasa yoga develops a more balanced body and helps prevent repetitive motion injuries that occur when you repeat certain motions every day.  As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognizes the temporary nature of things.  We enter a posture, remain there for a while and then leave.  Vinyasa is a breath-initiated practice that connects every action of our life with the intention of moving towards what is sacred or most important to us.

Sunrise Vinyasa/Candlelight Vinyasa also offered.
Flow with Sound
Nada yoga, meaning "union through sound," is a yoga of sound. It is an ancient Indian system and science of inner transformation through sound and tone. Nada yoga is based on the premise that the entire cosmos and everything in it – including us – consist of sound vibrations, or nadas.  Nada yoga uses sound vibrations and resonances to treat various spiritual and psychological conditions. It also helps increase one's awareness of the chakras and energizes them.  In this class, sound will be incorporated through the use of Gongs, Singing Bowls, chanting and other instruments, in addition to the Vinyasa sequence in order to shift your energetic field.

Color Yoga

Color Yoga combines color therapy - through light and visuals – in conjunction with an asana that stimulates the chakras.Color therapy, also known as Chromotherapy, is the principle that certain colors are infused with healing powers. The seven colors of the rainbow/chakras improve balance and healing in the mind and body.

Musician's Yoga

This is a power Vinyasa sequence specifically designed to support strength and balance, and to prevent injuries for a musician who uses repetitive movement to play their instruments.
